The REGinNET project is proposed by consortium of 19 partners - 13 Regional Contact Points from 6 Accession Candidate Countries (Pl, Ro, Dn, Cz, Hu, Tr) and 6 experienced organization National Contact Points and FP6 advisory organizations from EU Member States (NL, Be, It, Es, Uk, At). The project comprises a complementary set of actions addressed to regions in Associated Candidate Countries in order to enhance the participation of the regions in FP6 in IP, NoEs, STREPS, CRAFT, Mobility projects, etc. The Project will proceed in 3 lines interrelated to each other, 2 of them are focused on improvement of the competencies of the organizations being contact points on regional level by networking and training with assistance of experienced organizations form European Union, setting individual contacts by means of fellowships and organizing information days and brokerage events.

2. Aegean Region Innovation Relay Center “IRC-EGE”
IRC-EGE will be a new IRC, tailoring its services to meet the needs of its local companies, while respecting the IRC objectives. Primarily, it will aim to demonstrate to the Region’s SMEs, that accomplishing technological upgrades through adopting innovative technologies will be to their long term advantage. It will use methodologies and apply the tools which will prove beneficial in providing the respective services to Aegean SMEs and in the long run, improve the results achieved by providing a foundation for higher efficiency and performance in the future years Duration of project: 2004–2008
3. Facilitating Innovation for Sustainable
Fisheries and Marine Resources “FISh” The FISH project will support the participation of Small and Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs) in EC FP6 research activities within the industrial sector of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

project: 2004-2007 4. “IST MENTOR+” IST Mentor+ enables a wider participation in the IST Program of the Candidate Countries and New Member States, by developing a networked group of proficient IST multipliers, whose task will be to enhance building awareness of the IST Program and to assist potential proposers in submitting high quality proposals.

5. Support To Associated Countries and New Member
States “STARNET” The aim of the Star-Net project is to be the first step towards the formation and development of a consolidated structure for support of organisations in all New Member States (NMS) and Associated Countries (AC) for participation in IST activities, building on the knowledge, tools and services developed within some of the most relevant IST support actions over the recent years.

6. Turkish Mobility Network “TR-MONET” Through the establishment of a mobility network at the national level, TR-MONET aims at removing obstacles to the mobility of incoming and outgoing researchers as well as creating synergy through the “European Network of Mobility Centres” in making Europe an attractive place for the research talent from all over the world. The target of the project is to establish 6 mobility centres in Turkey which will be an integral part of the “European Network of Mobility Centres” and to network them.

7. Peripherical Regions Oriented Measure for Promotion of Technological Intelligence “PROMPT” The “PROMPT” project proposes to facilitate transnational technological cooperation and create — an “upstream” role — a “downstream” role — finally a “mobilisation of human resources” role The combination of these three approaches through the “PROMPT” project will create all the Duration of project: 2005-2008 8. European Researchers’ Night - Turkey “EUREN-TR” The ultimate aim is to enhance public recognition of researchers and their role in society as well as to encourage more young people to embark on careers in science and consequently to increase Europe’s (and Turkey’s) attractiveness as a place of work for researchers, while providing a wider public awareness about the EU support to science & research. Duration of project: 2006 (five months)
